Also called a wall-mounted belt barrier, these products are space-saving crowd control solutions that eliminate the need for freestanding posts. 

A wall-mounted retractable barrier consists of a belt cartridge unit that fixes directly to a wall or upright surface and a receiving clip to mount on an opposing surface. 

We stock a variety of fixing types for our wall-mounted tensa barriers, including magnetic fixings, post fixings and rack fixings to accommodate barrier creation in any environment. They also come with a choice of tape end mouldings, standard, magnetic or a clip in the case of Rack fix models.

In contrast, the wall-mounted Tensabarrier® refers specifically to the industry-leading product from Tensator, a globally recognised brand known for its patented braking system, superior belt retraction mechanics, and durable build quality.

While various manufacturers offer wall-mounted belt barriers, the Tensabarrier® wall-mounted barrier stands out for its safety features, including a controlled belt retraction mechanism that prevents snap-back injuries, and high-spec materials designed for longevity, even in demanding environments. How should I install and set up the wall-mounted retractable barrier system?

Installing a wall-mounted retractable barrier system is straightforward with normal tools. If using magnetic or rack clip fixings, there are no tools required. For the standard wall-mounted option:

• Position the unit at the optimal height (typically around waist level for visibility and ease of use). Measure and mark on both walls, so that the receiving clip is installed level to the cartridge.
• Secure the wall plate or backplate using the appropriate fixings for your wall type and surface. In most cases, screws with rawl plugs prove adequate.
• Test the retraction and lock mechanisms to confirm functionality before putting the barrier into daily use.

For dynamic environments, consider magnetic or removable options that allow repositioning without permanent fixings being required. Wall-mounted Units with Standard tape ends can be used in conjunction with Tensabarrier Posts as they utilise the same tape end mouldings, and can slide onto either a post spline or the wall clip that they are supplied with.
